Gig Report

After some confusion as to whether we were meant to be playing or not, Jonn duly picked us up drove us to Ilkeston, and as soon as he arrived he started playing the set for his other band ‘Ill Son’. Highlights of the highly energetic Ill Son set included a bucket banging rendition of Wipeout, and ‘GFD’ a song which informed us of drummer Jonn’s dubious obesity related offstage antics. We went on at half ten and did our usual thing, only interrupted when I broke a string, meaning Gav and Jonn had to entertain the crowd with Gav’s disgusting song, ‘Dating Agency’ – a rare treat for everyone. Restrung and retuned, we banged out a few more uptempo numbers finishing off the set with ‘(My) Friends’, which seems to have become a favourite. Then we were heckled into playing more, so we finished again with ‘Mario’, played for the first time in public. What the crowd lacked in number, they made up for in enthusiasm. Cheers guys.
